My gripes & the results of weakness

It's official: I've been sick for every holiday this season. All that's left is my birthday on Sunday and I'll be 0-4.

Thanksgiving and Christmas I had throat and sinus stuff. New Years I had food poisoning, which doubly sucks because I really love the place that gave me the food poisoning. Curly fries are RUINED for me now.

So, as the result of my 2+ months of hacking, headaches, yucky tummy and a raw nose, my judgment skills are a little off. This is the result:

In my defense, I got the outfit for 75% off. It was calling to me from underneath some snowman socks and those little gift boxes of sausages. It was the last one! It was practically mean for me to buy.

Of course, Alan is categorically opposed to any dog apparel outside of collars. The only allowance might be made for a sweater if the dog is shivering, but that's it. I waiver on the subject of dog dressing, as you can tell. I know for certain that dying your dog's fur is absolutely reprehensible. I once saw a poodle - one of the big ones - with it's fur dyed to look like flowers. I almost puked, which is actually a lot like I feel right now, but that's irrelevant.

See, I get mixed signals on this issue. I see Merry looking so adorable in her extensive wardrobe, Shelby sporting the perfect Halloween outfit and Tonka wearing the same suit.

So I feel myself slowly pulled toward the dark side, rationalizing that because those pups look so happy in their outfits, mine would love clothes too. Sadly, this is not the case.

The pictures up top are anomalies. Kritter and the moe usually don't smile when dressed. They usually look like this:

They totally hate it. Tails down, eyes sad. Alan's grandmother was cooking at the time, so I think that was the only reason I got a couple smiles.

So this is my conclusion: Dogs who like to be dressed may be dressed to their hearts' content. Dogs whose owners like to torment them with goofy clothes and take their picture looking sad are strictly forbidden to commit such atrocities.

(Terri, Emily, Alan: Halloween doesn't count. Everyone dresses up then. So I don't want to hear it!)

My MIL dresses her Jack Russell Terrier up with all sorts of different things. She was an angel for Christmas this year, complete with halo and wings.
