His usual pattern of behavior at the pug meetups is to walk in, begin barking, demand to be picked up, pull away/cuss under his breath when anyone tries to pet him, wiggle until I put him down, then have a barking spasm when any dog tries to approach him or me. And if he sees a kid, forget it, he's found his ultimate enemy.
However, he made major strides last meetup, and I'm very excited!
See for yourself:
Ok, notice the tentative stance and the back legs positioned to run away if threatened, but he's obviously saying hello to Pixel here.
And here again, neck stretch to keep maximum distance, but clearly a greeting.
Here you can see the neck stretch and back legs planted as far away as possible very clearly, but guess what you can't see: BARKING! Because he's not!!!
And look - he's sniffing Lola AND walking along with her. I'm so proud!!!Alan and I called his parents to tell them the news. Who needs kids when you have pugs?

Is this just in response to my last comment?
I agree...pugs are great kid substitutes! Good job, Gizmo, for being so brave!
Do you introduce him to the other pug parents as the "special one?"
Emily,
no smart alec, that's not why I posted the pics. Actually they were next on my list of pic to post. And yes, I have a list of pics to post. I'm a dork and I don't care
