Walking the block

Kritter and Moe turn into rabid beasts at the sight of nail clippers:

In this picture he's actually yawning, but that's only because he's worn out from fighting the cutting. I'd decided enough was enough and he needed to learn just to man up and deal with it. I struggled with him for over an hour and cut about three nails. Shortly after that I decided we would just go on lots of walk and the gravel would wear their nails down.

It never fails that both boys poop during the walk. We have a backyard, and they have every opportunity to go there, so I think they save it up for the walks just to laugh at Alan and me carrying the poop bags until we come to a trash can. Here we are trying to stall long enough so they go in our yard instead of someone else's.

Kritter did, and I was holding his leash (the leash you hold determines the poop you pick up - house rules) so I was excited. And we're off...

This is Gizmo being dragged away from the house on the corner with the German Shepard. It barks, and then Moe cusses back. I don't know where he learned that kind of language.

Ok, I cut off the top of the trees, but this is perfect yard. There's a few perfect yards in our neighborhood, but this is Kritter and Moe's favorite. Kritter always wants to mark the shrubs. I don't know the etiquette of this. When on a walk, and your dog has to pee/poop, is it exceedingly rude to let him go in a yard? I mean, we don't let them run around in people's yards, but occasionally they hop up into one to do business. We carry poop bags and clean up, but I just don't know how people feel about this. I wouldn't care about a dog going in mine if the owner cleaned up, but I've become a dog fanatic.

Moe yawning - he gets tuckered out really fast.

Kritter's legs get almost totally perpendicular to the ground when he's marking - I guess he's pretty flexible!

Check out Moe's ears - he's the red harness. He pulls his ears tightly back to his head like this when we're on walks and when he's running around the house. Alan calls it his aerodynamic position.

Some days there's SO much to smell!

Home again!

Gizmo throws himself on the floor when we get back from walks.
(Side note to woman with husbands: See that stuff on the cabinet door above Moe's tail. That's some spices Alan spilled while he was cooking. I wipe that thing almost daily - and yet it STAYS dirty. How do they do it?)

Even exhausted, Moe follows my every step, throwing himself to the floor every time I pause. He's such a sweet baby.

I didn't know you were gonna put all 40 pictures that you took on your blog.

You know that you can take them to petsmart and they will do it for $6. You don't even have to watch.

Ours struggle with the nails too so we give up and take them to the vet to have it done. And they hate getting the crack of their nose cleaned too. If they only knew it was good for them. I don't care if dogs go potty in my yard but we don't stay out in the front yard. I have found that people that do a lot of gardening and have kids don't like dogs going potty in their yard. It's nice that you take the poop bag with you. i think people appreciate that.
