First treatment, fireworks, the lake & meetup

I took Moe on Friday for his first chemo treatment. It consisted of two pills - that's it! I was so glad it wasn't traumatic. In two weeks they'll check his white blood cell count and then give him a shot and from then on it alternates pills and shot every two weeks. He feels a little bit yucky tonight, but I'm not certain it is the pills or just the occasional sour stomach.

The lake
Here's some video of Moe and Kritter playing with Max, my bro-in-law's girlfriend's maltese at the lake. Moe is wearing a doggie lifejacket, as this was after he jumped in the lake to come get me off the Sea Doo.

Fireworks
It rained practically all week, so our fireworks were postponed until tonight. I tried out the "fireworks" setting on the camera:

It was the best show Alan and I had ever seen, but we haven't been to any of the really big ones. Some day.

Pug meetup
Skies were overcast for the July pug meetup - perfect for the flatnosers:
This little guy (right) was very sweet. Alan was sitting away from the crowd because Gizmo seems to have regressed a bit as far as tolerating other dogs. Moe is usually fine unless somepug tries to smell him or love on me - then he gets vocal. This little guy came up and sat beside Moe and Alan, but gave Moe enough space not to feel threatened. See, Moe even is grinning a little!
Alan started the meetup sitting with Moe near the group, but an overzealous lab puppy ticked him off. He's puffing his lips out and doing the soft "puf puf" bark in protest.

Meanwhile, Kritter has found a puppy, one of his very favorite things in the world. He's a very nurturing little man.

It looks like a herd of pugs is pushing this poodle into the pond!

Glad to see you and Gizmo out enjoying good times. Looks like loads of fun. Can't keep a good pug down for long.

I gotta say, I just love the doggie life-jacket. It makes me giggle!

Gizmo was fine without he life jacket...he can swim (hello, doggie paddle). Maybe you should see if they make doggie arm floaties. That would be funny.
