Snoozing, rawhide and a butterfly

This happens far too often: I wake up, put my glasses on, cuddle with pugs and fall back asleep. Alan caught me this morning. Kritter was already working on a bone - look under his paw. If only pugs weren't so cuddly maybe I'd get up when I should (probably not!)

Kritter doesn't really care for the chicken flavored rawhides, but Gizmo really goes at 'em! My laptop case provided a perfect chewing station.

Ok, long story: Yesterday I pruned down my passionflower and blue skyflower vines to nubs. I went a little crazy because I wanted to untangle them, but it was too big a mess, so I decided just to pull everything down and start over from the stems. Then this morning I regretted not saving some of the vines to root and plant. So I checked in the trash (we have our own individual one, and the vines were the only thing in it) and they weren't wilted yet, so I pulled a bunch out and stuck them in our little water garden to root.

Among the vines in the trash I found a couple open cocoons and one baby butterfly! I tried to get him to walk onto one of the leaves, and he did for a minute, but jumped right back on my glove.

So I left it beside the vines so he could get a breeze and dry out his wings. He wasn't there tonight, so hopefully his wings opened. He was beating them when I left for work, so I hope he got away before a bird saw him.

Wow! Great pictures with the young butterfly! Oh we know how hard is to wake up in the morning! We love to cuddle too! Kisses!

I would love to stay in bed and cuddle up. Unfortunately one of mine insists on going potty first thing or will all over the floor.

Click my profile to find new place. Last move, I promise.

That baby butterfly is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Thanks for posting it!

I wish the cats would just snuggle up like that. They're usually more in the mood to wake me up by chewing on my fingers so I can let them outside to play.

Only four more days ... yay!

Wow, what a great picture...it's the first time I've seen a baby butterfly like that. Thanks for posting about it ;-)
