Weekend with the butterball

We had a wonderful weekend with my brother-in-law, Kyle, and his bulldog, Daisy.

She is quite the large lady, as you can see, with quite the attitude. An alpha female for sure.

Alan calls her the Big B@#$. I don't like that word, so I will say she is a lady who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to throw her weight around.

Kritter is a total lover, so he acted like a gentleman the whole time. Plus, he's not stupid - she's got 40 pounds on him!

The boys were nice enough to take me to Pet Fest in Old Town Spring on Saturday. It was great - so many different breeds, fur parents, rescue groups, breed clubs and doggie stuff vendors. I don't know how I got out of there without buying anything!

Kritter patiently waits for Kyle to give him a bite of breakfast.

I wish I'd gotten a picture that showed these pampered pets' outfits better. They are wearing matching red, white and blue getups that their grandmomma makes for them. Alan and Kyle were, of course, appalled - even more so when they found out there's three boys and just one girl in this group!

I'll take some of those kisses!

Kritter says hi to a Frenchie dressed as a pig and a Boston dressed as a bat.

Saturday evening Kyle showed off what's he's learned so far in culinary school, and Alan helped.

Kyle made each of us our own soup: French onion for Alan, shrimp bisque for me and potato and watercress for him. All were awesome, but the potato and watercress was WONDERFUL and a fun green color.

Kritter always sticks close to the kitchen when there's cookin' goin' on.

Here's Kritter guarding our front window.

He loves lunge and bite at these two puppet-like toys we have - one is a dolphin and the other is a zebra. This is the pre-pounce face.

ATTACK!

Sunday we went to watch Alan's flag football team, the Winged Scapulas. They play in the med school's intramural league. Winged scapula is some condition where your shoulder blades get messed up and stick out like wings. Yeah, they're dorks. This is them in the red.

They won.

Daisy cheered, and Kritter kept an eye out for people to pet him.

What the guys don't like dogs dressing?????? I'll admit though, if I had a boy he would not wear silly things!

I believe she is an Old English Bulldog, unless there is something different between an English Bulldog and an Old English Bulldog.
That's too funny there is another one named Daisy. It seems like such a dainty name - but there's nothing dainty about this dog!
